A Complete Guide for Aspiring Tutors in Acadsoc Ltd.



               If you are planning to apply and be part of the growing community of home-based ESL Tutors in Acadsoc Ltd., the article will help you to make it happen.

1.    Basic Requirements:
o   Excellent English Communication Skills
o   Bachelor’s degree or higher
o   Must be 20 years old or above
o   Capable of teaching kids / K12
o   Available teaching hours (6PM – 10PM weekdays / 10AM – 10PM weekends)
o   English teaching certifications such as TESOL / TEFL are preferred but not required

2.    Device requirements
o   These are the basic requirements that you need to have when you are still in the application process:
Before the application:
a.      Laptop / Desktop
üAt least Windows 7, Intel Core i5 and up, 4GB RAM
b.     Headset
ü With noise-canceling feature
c.     Stable Internet Connection
ü(for Davao area) – I can help if you are hesitant to install internet connection before getting hired. You can personally contact me for you to visit my place and have your device check here.
ü(for outside Davao) - You can temporarily use Globe at Home Prepaid Wi-Fi.
After the application:
d.     HD Webcam    
ü But if you are using a laptop with built-in HD camera, it will do. As long as you can be clearly seen by your students. Just support it with proper lighting.

3.    Submission of Application and Recruitment Process
o   Now that you’ve got all these requirements. You are now ready to apply. I am willing to assist you all throughout your application process. Send me the following details through skype: live:hyzellpellerin

Once these details are forwarded to the HR, you need to keep your line open because the next step is the initial interview (phone call). During the initial interview, the interviewer will confirm your basic information and interest in applying for the job. The interviewer will also set an appointment for your next interview (Skype interview) which includes Technical Check.

The third step is the Skype Interview and Technical Check. In this stage, a formal interview will be conducted. The interviewer will now determine if you’ve got what it takes to be an online tutor in Acadsoc. Then follows the Technical Check, where the interviewer will check the reliability and stability of your internet connection through a speed test. This stage is a one-day process before the interview ends, he/she will inform you of the estimated waiting hour for your results.

After you passed the third step, the interviewer will endorse you to your assigned HR. You need to contact your assigned HR through Skype. HR will be asking for more information from you, such as: Government-issued ID, Location, Emergency contact number, verified PayPal account, etc.

Next, to that, you are now ready to be endorsed to training. Instructions are provided. More detailed information will be provided by your assigned HR. In this stage, you will now have access to the website and other teaching tools that you will be using moving forward.

Now, you are ready for your Material Training. This training will only take a maximum of 2 hours. In this stage, you will be train about the important notes, restrictions, class table, system navigation, salary, teaching points, customer service assistance, tips for the newbies and class flow which is necessary for your demo class. Once the training is done, you will now have to confirm your own choice of schedule for your demo class.

Give out your best during demo class to surely pass the recruitment process and be an Acadsoc Online Tutor. The question, “What will happen if you will not pass the demo class? Acadsoc will give you a second chance. You will be scheduled for another Material Training and have your second demo class right after. Reaching this stage is a great opportunity already, make sure to make the most out of it.

Once you pass the demo class, you are now a certified ESL Online Tutor of Acadsoc.

365 th D ay as an  Acadsoc  ESL O nline T utor Last July 19, 2019 marked my 365 th day as an ESL Online tutor in Acadsoc. My endeavor in the company was like a roller coaster. There were a lot of ups and downs. There were times where I am highly motivated to work but on the other hand, there were also instances that I am already in the attempt of giving up. “Beginning is always the hardest part”, and that saying was definitely true.
